Meet LSGC Founders and Coaches

Its only natural to want to find out more about who is coaching your daughters, so here is a little bit about us.

Hi I am Coach Warren, age 40. My football coaching journey began when I served in the Armed Forces where I completed my level 1 & level 2 in football coaching whilst representing the Royal Navy u21s before dislocating my knee. I began coaching again 4 years ago when I coached my sons football team, I progressed the team from the bottom to the top division in just 3 seasons reaching the semi-final of the cup.

I then started developing girls in football two seasons ago along with my daughter, last year my u9s grassroots football team won the ELFA u9 cup. I have represented three clubs whilst coaching girls but it has always been a dream of mine to start my own club.I have also coached down at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust coaching Futsal to girls aged 7-11 and continue to coach Futsal within LSGC, I currently hold level 1 Futsal and are booked on for level 2.

It gives me great pride to see a number of our players signed on for Regional Talent Centres as this is the dream for many girls, whilst those that are now signed cant play for us in grassroots football, many continue to train and play in our Futsal teams.

My style of coaching breeds confidence and enhances the players abilities. I believe in creating an environment for all girls of all abilities to flourish and prosper and believe that skills gained in sport are paramount for all future endeavours.

Lancashire Spitfires has been a dream of mine for a number of years which has now come to fruition with the help of my good friend John Root. We are two very passionate coaches and there is nowhere else we would rather be than coaching our club.

Hi I’m coach John, I’m 34 years old. I first started coaching at Rosegrove FC in 2017 with an U10s boys team who I still coach & are now U13s. I also coach the U9s girls development squad for Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and previously coached the U8s development squad up until  I started university at the University of Central Lancashire in November 2019 studying Sports Coaching and Development. I have just finished my first year and have another 2 years remaining on my undergraduate degree. I have just recently taken up the role of Lead Coach for the U13s development squad at Oldham Athletic. I currently hold my level 2 coaching badge in football coaching and my level 1 coaching badge in Futsal.

We have extremely big dreams and expectations for Lancashire Spitfire Girls Club and believe it to be an honour to be able to empower girls to come to us and develop in a safe, fun and hard working environment with coaches that are dedicated and passionate about development
